Cumberland University

Teaching Experience

Through my time in academia, I have had the privilege to teach at a variety of institutions as an adjunct, teaching assistant, and as a professor.

I am currently an Assistant Professor of History at Cumberland University. Since 2022, I have taught a 4-4 course load, generally teaching three survey courses and one upper-level course. While Cumberland University’s history program is small, it is nonetheless vibrant and filled with great students.

Below is a list of courses that I have taught, from most recent to latest and from upper-level to lower-level. I will provide a syllabus copy as a reference to those who are eager to know how I structure my classes. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

North Central Texas College

Adjunct Instructor - 2015-16

I served as an Adjunct Instructor of History at North Central Texas College for one year, right after receiving my Master’s in History from North Texas in 2015. I had never taught a class up to this point and it was a valuable learning experience.

I taught two courses per semester, both dual-credit classes on location at local high schools. The classes were both halves of the US History unit.

As the experience of teaching was new to me during my time at NCTC, I will not be posting the syllabi here.
